Demilitarized Zone
The term demilitarized zone (DMZ) is from the military and is used to define a buffer zone between two enemies. In the world of computer networking, the DMZ defines a small network that sits between the Internet and the corporate network. It provides an extra buffer of protection between the corporate network and the Internet.
